Very happy to know about this site...Hope to hear of a similar encounters in the future.. MY ENCOUNTER: As I've seen and heard with other encounters there is little evidence and it's only the "word" of the person reporting to go off.. That's all there is in this case as well... Time: Story takes place pre Cedar Fire.. only a year or 2 prior... Could have been 01 or 2002? It was approx early to mid fall...(oct./nov.?) I know that cuz we had worked all summer and there was not yet any snow on the ground. I also remember it was startring to get really cold at night. Location: Cuyamaca North Peak. I was on my friends property on the N/NE side of Cuyamaca Noth Peak.. His property is at approx 5500 ft. My friend has a large man made pond right next to a barn. I was parked beneath the barn overhang and was taking a catnap in the early evening. (it was warm in my car and pretty cold outside.) Anyway, pretty straight forward from there. I had woken up and just happened to be looking out the front windshield when what, at first glance, appeared to be a large person walking in front of me. It took me a second or two to realize that it was not a person. It definitely was much larger and did not move like a normal human. (was sort of looking around a lot..) I went from a slouched position to jumping up in my seat and putting my face up against the windshield. Right at that instant, (maybe I made a noise in car?) The large animal moved back off into the bushes in the other direction. (not the same way from which it came but continued in a direction eastward) I wouldn't say the animal ran or jumped, but It did sort of "pick up the pace" and just move onward...We have a name for the area where this all happened. We call it "cougar highway" cuz there are endless deer and cougar prints year round. It's a high pass that traverses the eastern portion of north peak. If you continue in that direction you'll end up around the mountain on the East side (facing upper Cuyamaca Lake) where every year all the people come to go sledding in the Winter.
That's really about as much info as I can provide.. After it happened I raced over to my friends house and told him what I saw... I've sort of been laughed at for years but don't care. I know what I saw and definitely wont forget it... Thanks and please keep me posted on any news....
PS: Under behaviour you don't have an option for just plain "walking".. I definitely couldn't categorize any kind of behaviour other than just plain walking....thx again..
