IDYLLWILD CA (PINE COVE/DUTCH FLAT) OCT. 15, 2011
We scouted along Deer Springs Trail in Idyllwild to see if there was suitable habitat that may support a small Bigfoot population. There was plenty of small game, acorns, water supply, and lots of chaparral to hide. There were lots of pine trees and the terrain varied from steep mountains to level land. In our opinion, there should be an ample amount of food and water to sustain a small population of Bigfoot.
Along the trail, we spotted something strange. There was a large Pine that had bark missing from the lower 8ft of the tree. There were other trees like this, but the bark was still lying at the base of this tree. The others did not. That is what made this tree stand out. Near this tree was a large rock formation surrounded by thick chaparral and game trails that seemed to lead to this area. We did not find any hair or other samples in this area.

As we went deeper along the trail, we got to Suicide Peak. We done some Squatch calls, and had an unusual response. As we were there during the afternoon, we did not expect to get a response. We did not have the recorder out at the time to capture it.
We went off the trail about a 1/8 of a mile to eat lunch. We heard a loud tree knock followed by a wood pecker. As we descended back down to the truck, we had no other observations. We will come back to this place to conduct some night time recordings.
